Holy Spirit: If you are a Believer, when you accepted Jesus as your Savior and were saved by Grace, you were baptized into Jesus by the Holy Spirit and indwelt by the Holy Spirit. A second baptism occurs when a man of God baptizes the Believer in water, acknowledging that the Believer has been cleansed by the atoning Blood of Jesus and can now come before the Father accepted in the Beloved. A third baptism occurs if and when Jesus baptizes the Believer into the fullness of the Holy Spirit, the filling of the Holy Spirit. All Believers are told in John 7:38-39 ” He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive.” These verses express both a blessing and a commandment for the Believer, who is blessed by having received the indwelling Living Water and who is commanded to allow that Living Water to flow out of him like a river. Jesus made it very clear that this is a commandment when John recorded His words in chapter 13 verse 34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” Since even the most committed Believer is not capable of loving his brothers with the perfect love with which Jesus has loved him, it is clear that you must allow the Holy Spirit to love others through you…allow the Living Water to flow through you to touch others...not a stream of Living Water…a River.
