Listener: Holy Spirit was speaking to me when I awakened in the middle of the Third Watch. He told me that He had been speaking to me while I slept, but that it was not for Daily Bread. I have no memory of what He was saying when I was asleep nor of any dream; however, He did tell me that the watch in which I am awakened is significant and advised me to review my notes on the teachings of the eight watches. When I reached the top of the Mountain, my heart was so troubled for someone whom I love who is in a dangerous situation, that I found myself attempting to pray for him, praying broken prayers filled with fear, rather than quietly waiting for Holy Spirit to speak… Finally I paused and was able to hear… Holy Spirit speaks: Put him in My hands. You do not have the courage or the strength to pray for what He needs. I love him more than any of those of you who love him, and I will provide what he needs. Now, I give you peace regarding him and the situation in which he finds himself. Remember, Listener, this is not a time for you to pray; this is a time for you to receive Daily Bread for those who are waiting, who desire to be fed. The one for whom you prayed cannot receive My words at this point. I will provide what he needs, although neither he nor you may recognize it as My provision. The trip to the place where he could have received help was in vain; I knew that, but I also knew that it would give comfort to the one who took him there to remember that he had made a final effort to help the one in need. After a long pause, Holy Spirit continued: I have attempted to give you the peace to receive a message for Daily Bread, but your heart is with the one who is in such desperate need. You so deeply desire for Me to rescue him again. I will not promise to rescue him, to take him out of the situation, but I do promise to hold him in My Hands as he goes through it….I know that you do not desire to post this, but if I give you no other message, you must use this one. Listener: Later, when my alarm went off, I hit the snooze button three times, and then He spoke: You do not want to get up because you do not want to face the possibility that I have no message for you other than what I gave you earlier. I have no other message for you right now…take the Bread and the Wine. Listener: As I stood praying over Communion, I asked “Lord, how do I pray for him now?” His answer was: Pray that when I begin to deal with him that he will finally open his eyes and acknowledge his responsibility for the situation in which he finds himself, and, that he will truly turn to Me. That when I open his eyes, he will be willing to see the truth, rather than seeking any means available to avoid facing the truth. That he may accept responsibility for his actions and for his life, and give that life wholeheartedly to the One Who Is TRUTH. Listener: Later, in morning prayer, I asked again for a serving of Daily Bread which did not include such personal aspects and applications. The Holy Spirit’s answer left no doubt in my mind as He explained: Can you not understand how this message might help others who come to Me with a deep prayer need? For them to see how I answer even in situations in which they are helpless and those for whom they pray are in great need? When My children come to me and ask, I always answer. My answer may not be what they expected or wanted to hear or to experience…But it is always the BEST answer.
