Holy Spirit: This morning I touched the Listener’s heart, and this prayer poured forth. The prayer is for you, those to whom the Listener writes…it is also for the Listener. Since every word in this prayer is the will of God for His people, you can be assured that He will answer it. Listener Prays: Oh, Lord, I have long prayed for hunger, that I would hunger for More of You; that the Church, the Body of Christ would hunger for Your Word; for Your Presence. Now You have told me to add Thirst to that prayer, that we may hunger for the Bread of Life and thirst for the Living Water. We live in a dry and desert land — the world, the wilderness of this world. As this world grows darker, let us behold the Light of Your Glory; as the water of this world becomes more and more polluted and contaminated, Let us thirst for the Living Water…and having received that Living Water, to share it with both struggling and wounded Believers as well as with the lost. Let us seek the meat of Your Word; let us allow Your Holy Spirit to enable us to digest that meat. Let us grow strong in Him; to be led by Him; to follow Him into battle and to prevail over satan’s demonic forces in His strength. Let us share as much of the meat of Your Word and the River of Living Water as our Brothers can receive. Let us be open and transparent, honest with our Brothers that they may catch a glimpse of what You are doing in our lives, and what You want to do in their lives. Oh, Lord…let us realize that the trials which You allow us to go through are not obstacles but rather Body Building exercises. Exercises not designed to give us greater strength and confidence in our own strength but to become Strong in You…and to have confidence and trust in Your Strength. Let us view our lives as learning experiences…and let us seek Higher Education. We have been given the Third Person of the Holy Trinity as our Teacher…not only to teach us but to be our constant Companion and Tutor. Please help us not to grieve Him; not to take His Presence for granted; not to ignore His leading and His provision. Help us to always be aware that He indwells every Believer., and to know that He is waiting and desiring to reveal His fullness to us. Please enable us to desire, to seek and to receive that fullness. I pray this in the Blessed, Holy Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As I finished writing the words that the Holy Spirit poured into me for this prayer, I began to weep. And He said: The tears of God’s people are precious to Him (Isaiah 25:8), especially when you allow Me to touch your heart so deeply. Note from the Listener: For those who love to hear the Voice of the Holy Spirit, this morning He has spoken primarily through the words of prayer that He gave to me. I too love to hear His Voice, to engage in conversation with Him. But He comes to us in many different ways. When He speaks and it is like sitting in the presence of a beloved Teacher. When He opens the Logos to our understanding. When He shows us the beauty of God’s creation in nature. When He allows us to experience His Love through another Believer. We must always recognize Him. We must learn to receive His Presence as He chooses to reveal Himself to us. As I descended from the Mountain this morning, still a bit weepy, I asked Him, Lord, do those Rivers of Living Water flow through our eyes? He laughed and answered, Frequently! I keep trying to tell y’all…He has a wonderful sense of humor. Of course, everything about the Holy Spirit is wonderful!
